Description
Circular to oval outline. Circular(?) discus has filling hole left middle and rounded framing ring. Flat shoulder has wide channel with alternating plain circles and squares in relief. Slight joining ridge.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Late Roman Athenian lamp fabric: somewhat soft, slightly coarse clay with very rare, subangular to subrounded, very small calcite and rare, small, black and dark red rocky inclusions.
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves small part of discus and less than one quarter of shoulder. Moderate, extensive abrasion and pitting; scattered specks of encrustation.
