Circular outline. Circular to slightly oval, deep concave, plain discus has central filling hole with collar rim and small hole forming airhole at front framing ring. Shoulder has single row of globules, with larger ones flanking nozzle (representing rivets?). Nozzle has straight base; it was elongated and U-shaped. Ring handle has three grooves. Circular, plain base has three concentric rings.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
10YR 8/4, very pale brown. Unglazed. Middle Roman Athenian lamp fabric: pale, somewhat soft. Overfired top.
Preservation comment
Six joining sherds preserve most of discus, small part of shoulder, and half of handle and base. Slight, extensive abrasion; scattered patches of encrustation.
