Circular outline. Circular, deep concave, plain discus has central filling hole, broad, flat framing ring, and very small airhole at front edge of rim. Broad, slightly rounded shoulder. Heart-shaped nozzle. Vertical loop handle has two grooves in front. Circular, wide, flat base ring and plain bottom.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 10YR 8/3, very pale brown. Slip: 7.5YR 6/8, reddish yellow. Early Roman Corinthian lamp fabric: very fine, slightly soft. Thin, uneven, matte slip, extremely flakey, is preserved only in small patches across surface and in large areas absent. Small chunks of plaster from molding around discus ring and nozzle.
Preservation comment
Intact except top of handle and small chip in discus. Moderate, extensive abrasion and slight pitting.
