Late phase of early unglazed. No exact parallel but identified by fabric, deeply concave discus, and elements of design including double ring around discus, tight rosette with dimpled petals (e.g., Agora VII, p. 146, no. 1566, pl. 28) and tight wreath or herringbone (e.g., Agora VII, p. 144, no. 1455, pl. 27); for a less precise later version of this format see Agora VII, p. 148, no. 1606, pl. 29 (glazed, Stratolaos workshop: mid-4th century).
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Medium coarse fabric has uncommon, small, subrounded to subangular black and white (calcitic) inclusions, rare, larger, elongated red inclusions, and rare flecks of golden mica. Thin, even, matte wash same color as fabric.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves small part of discus and inner edge of shoulder. Slight, extensive abrasion; sparse specks of encrustation.
