Circular outline. Circular discus has central filling hole with slightly raised rim, rosette with 14 concave petals, raised rim, and airhole over front rim. Slightly sloping shoulder has wide groove with raised herringbone. Rounded nozzle flanked by double angled grooves; traces of burning. Wide, low, solid handle with three grooves attaches to discus-rim and extends to base. Circular, plain base has two slightly raised rings around signature in relief: ΚΥ̣ (sharp serifs; upsilon is pushed far to right). Details blunt from surmoulage of worn lamp.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
10R 4/3, weak red. Late Roman Corinthian red fabric: uncommon, medium-sized to large, subangular, white (calcitic) inclusions; brick-like.
Preservation comment
Almost complete lamp from six joining sherds but missing front upper handle and small part of base. Slight, extensive abrasion and pitting; wide, thin patches of concretion.
