Long, tear-shaped outline and keyhole format. Circular to oval, slightly concave discus has central filling hole, design in relief, and broad channel to wickhole with large airhole over line of rim. Relief of jeweled Maltese cross with raised rim, several disorganized circles inside, and single circles in angles of arms. Shoulder has broad groove with palm branch. Rounded nozzle; traces of burning. Tall, narrow, pointed, knoblike handle attaches over shoulder and extends(?) to base. Circular base has single groove enclosing large, indistinct, incuse design. Slight joining ridge; wide webbing.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
2.5YR 5/6, red. Late Roman Corinthian red fabric?: hard, gritty, with common, small, subrounded to subangular, white inclusions; brick-like.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve most of lamp but missing one-third of base. Severe, extensive abrasion; slight, extensive patches of encrustation.
