Wide, oval outline. Circular, concave, plain discus has central filling hole and narrow, rounded framing ring. Flat to slightly sloping shoulder with sharp rim and two angular ears at lateral midpoint. Rounded nozzle attaches flat to front rim; single circles(s) on shoulder above joint. Traces of burning. Wide ring handle with three grooves attaches to back of discus and almost to base. Flat, circular base with single groove around incuse bullseye ornament at center.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 10YR 7/4, very pale brown. Slip: 2.5YR 5/6, red, to 2.5YR 4/4, reddish brown. Somewhat soft, flakey, medium fine fabric with very rare, very small, subangular, white and black inclusions. Somewhat thick, semilustrous, uneven slip detaching everywhere in small flakes, on inside and outside. Corinthian fabric?
Preservation comment
Six sherds, five joining, preserve small part of discus, three-quarters of shoulder, small part of upper wall, and lower part of handle. Slight, extensive abrasion and pitting; sparse specks of encrustation.
