Circular outline. Circular, concave discus has central filling hole with slightly recessed, wide, flat ring, rays, and flat framing ring. Somewhat narrow, slightly sloping shoulder has large ovules. Large ring handle with two grooves attaches at discus and 10 mm above base, where it terminates in a short point with a double concentric circles and an ‘x’: double concentric circle on wall directly below. Flat, circular base has single groove.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Early/Middle Roman Corinthian lamp fabric: pale pink, somewhat soft, fine but common subrounded small voids.
Preservation comment
Seven joining sherds preserve over three-quarters of discus, roughly two thirds of shoulder, entire handle, part of back wall below seam, and small part of base. Slight, sparse abrasion; sparse specks of encrustation.
