Description
Deep large basin. Heavy, slightly drooping, rilled rim. Round-in-profile, horizontal handle with deep grooves partially extant, thumb-pressed left attachment is over rim, right under. Vertical flaring walls.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Slightly coarse fabric with occasional medium angular limes chunks and other mostly light with some dark small to tiny bits. Uneven slip on upper rim is matte and thick in places, darker than fabric (2.5YR 4/2, weak red) where thickest; slip in small part of extant interior wall is lighter (5YR 6/4, light reddish brown). Extant exterior unslipped.
Preservation comment
One heavy sherd preserves <5% of rim with roughly half of one attached handle. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion, flaking, and sparse chipping; worn breaks.
