Description
Hemispherical cup with low, flaring ring foot. Foot is given a molded profile by deep groove separating it from wall on outer face. Lowest face of foot forms flat rest, with light groove towards inner edge. Sloping inner face of foot is separated from underside by offset. Very small concentric groove forms tiniest circle at center of underside. Central stamp in a divided rectangular field has workshop stamp in two lines: ΠΟΣΙΔ|ⲰΝΙΟΥ (dotted Ι, Ν, Ι, Υ).
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very fine light red fabric with no visible inclusions; darker red slip. Early (“ESB1“).
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire base and large part of lower wall. Slip is extensively chipped and scratched, but preserves original gloss in places; deep scratch on underside. Moderately worn breaks; faint, scattered clouds of pale gray discoloration.
