Description
Concave discus with filling hole front left and figural relief: crane standing left. The popular type of the standing crane shows variable placement of head and sometimes crane facing flowering plant.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: pinkish buff, consistently fired; fine, slightly soft; smooth break; rare tiny bits including calcareous. Slip: Orangish brown to chocolate brown; thick but variable application, mottled to streaky, semilustrous.
Preservation comment
One small sherd preserves small part of discus with figural relief. Slight, somewhat sparse abrasion and rare pitting; worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation.
