Fabric, firing, and surface description
Late Roman Corinthian “red“ lamp fabric (brick red at core, somwhat gritty), firing (hard), and surface (slightly smoothed). Distinct, sharp, narrow webbing and joining ridge; right mislaignment of handle at seam.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 40% of upper back part of lamp above seam, including roughly one-half of discus and shoulder and upper handle. Slight, sparse abrasion and slight to moderate pitting and chipping near back; worn breaks; extensive, very thin film of encrustation.
