Description
Saucer lid. Thickly constructed body with flaring walls and rounded edges. Central knob has rounded top flattened at peak; undercut below, which makes it easier to hold for lifting and placing. Largely flat underside shows some unevenness and bits of excess clay.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
The slip is brushed on upper faces; brush marks on outer face are interrupted by spongeing, drips, and excess clay.
Preservation comment
Intact. Slight, extensive abrasion and erosion with large chip; slip flaking; widespread, thin clouding to patches of encrustation.
