Description
Circular(?), slightly concave discus has figural relief and filling hole offcenter right. Relief depicts baby Herakles strangling two snakes over his thighs. Popular motif in various formats in the Roman West (see comparanda).

Typical fabric (buff with slightly pinkish core, uncommon, small, subrounded white [calcareous] inclusions), firing, and surface treatment.
Preservation comment
One small sherd preserves central discus. Moderate to severe, extensive pitting, abrasion, and minor chipping; worn breaks; faint patches of encrustation.
