Fabric, firing, and surface description
Late Roman Corinthian “white“ fabric (pale red, fine, very small tiny white bits; somewhat soft and soapy surface texture?), firing, and surface. Wide, sharp joining ridge and blocky webbing.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 35% of upper middle to back part of lamp, including less than one-half of discus, more than one-half of shoulder and outer rim, and upper handle. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion and patches of scratching; worn breaks; thin film of encrustation in relief.
