Description
Eros with syrinx. Double grooves on base.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical fabric (pale red, gritty, uncommon, small, subangular white and black inclusions), firing, and surface treatment (orangish red, close to color of fabric; thin, even, matte).
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve ca. 70% from upper part of lamp, including nearly all of discus, most of left shoulder, and roughly one-half of nozzle, and small part of front right base. Slight, somewhat sparse abrasion and chipping; worn breaks; sparse specks of encrustation. Burning around nozzle from use.
