Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale red fabric with a tinge of yellow, consistently fired; somewhat hard, fine, mostly smooth breaking; rare, isolated, irregular black bits. Fine, even wash on exterior, slightly more pale than fabric; thin, semimatte black slip on interior but uneven and absent in places and flaking. Wheelmade. Exterior smoothed.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds preserve ca. 25% of front of lamp, including small part of discuss, base of nozzle, and most of profile of wall. Slight, sparse abrasion; worn breaks; thin spots to faint white film: incipient encrustation?
