Description
Bowl with high flaring walls that curve slightly upward, nearly flat floor on slight concave, ring foot. Rounded rim. Two tightly spaced concentric rings of short rouletting near mid-point of floor. Possible partial impression from spacer on floor near turn to wall. Ring foot has concave inner face, a very slight offset marks inner face from underside of floor, band within that offset more distinctly from greater part of floor.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very fine fabric may be discolored by marine environment, slightly pink for ware; there is a distinct darker core at thickest part of base. A single large dark inclusion has caused spalling on upper surface of floor. A few small exterior voids from turning on outer wall.
Preservation comment
Four large joining sherds preserve profile and over half of rim; one break is modern. Thin slip large present on all surfaces, though with some wear at lip of rim and elsewhere. One pit from spalling on inner floor where a large inclusion now visible. Slight, sparse abrasion and chipping; worn breaks.
