Amphora with high neck. Slightly thickened, rounded rim with finger-width band below it; light spiral ridging on neck. Handle with two light grooves on upper face springs horizontally from neck. As with all LRA1s, this piece is somewhat irregularly formed. Faint traces of dipinto in red paint on lower neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Granular fabric, rough surface and slightly hackly break. Frequent, small, varied, angular bits, predominantly black but some lighter, and rare small lime chunks. Exterior surface and upper part of interior neck pale; extant interior surface otherwise just slightly darker than fabric.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire rim and neck, upper one-third of one handle, and small part of shoulder. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion and pitting, especially around rim; worn breaks; specks to rare patches of encrustation.
