Description
Jug like lagynos. Round body, angled shoulder, tall cylindrical neck, and vertical, thickened rim with squared outer face and convex interior. Base of neck is marked by two light grooves on transition to shoulder. Tall strap handle with two grooves curves sharply down from apex to attach somewhat below rim. Interior of neck preserves a continuous spiral groove as side effect of manufacture.
Preservation comment
Three joining sherds preserve ca. 33% of shoulder and entire neck, rim, and handle. Surface is relatively well preserved in comparison to many other sherds also exposed to the marine environment, though there is some of the general softening of the fabric and dulling of surface slip. Slip is mostly extant in respect to coverage, though there are worn patches and surface chips and scratches.
