1960s: sherds mended with shellac and infilled with white plaster.
Description
Bowl with slightly flaring wall and high rim. Slightly incurved rim has concave band on outer face, with light groove above and below; light rouletting at top and bottom of rim; groove below rim. Wall varies in thickness so that interior face has greater flare. Short ring foot is slightly flaring with flat lower face and concentric offsets under floor. Groove marks exterior of foot from wall. Unintentional tool mark leaves slight gouge on lower part of interior wall.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very fine, pale fabric. Dark-red slip thick where double-dipping streak extant, otherwise mostly worn.
Preservation comment
Three joining sherds preserve profile and complete base. Slight, sparse abrasion and uncommon scratching and chipping.
