Description
Thymiaterion. Cylindrical to conical hollow base. Two prominent ridges create three rounded channels on base, which terminates in wide flare. Bowl opens widely.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light pink fabric likely discolored; slightly granular with frequent small to tiny varied bits, some small light angular chunks. Any slip likely removed by weathering in marine environment.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire base and very small part of lowermost wall. Extensive, slight abrasion with very slight chipping around edges; worn breaks; somewhat thick, widespread patches of encrustation varying from gray to brownish black.
