Description
Narrow, blocky handle that formed prow or stern. Incised grooves trace trapezoidal panel with two transverse lines on top and five axial grooves below radiating down toward center of boat.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Light red, 2.5YR 7/6. Fine, hard clay with scattered, tiny, mostly white and fewer black, gray, and red bits as well as rare golden micaceous flecks. Surface smoothed. No wash or slip.
Preservation comment
One small sherd preserves end of one handle of Isis-lamp. Slight to moderate, extensive abrasion and moderate chipping around edges. Very thin film of encrustation.
