sim. KerameikosXVI, pp. 288-289, nos. 4631-4637, pl. 80 (some with herringbone and some with wavy lines; B. Böttger).
Description
Teardrop(?) outline. Discus with late scallop motif; central filling hole. Flat shoulder has wavy line. Short thick loop handle with two wide grooves above seam.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical fabric (pale red), firing, and surface treatment (thin, mostly even, matte slip slightly darker than fabric). Irregular plug of clay inside handle from before firing.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves back 15% of back discus, entire upper handle, and small part of adjacent shoulder. Slight, sparse abrasion and pitting; worn breaks; and extensive, very thin film of encrustation.
