Description
Oval discus has large central filling hole, relief decoration, and high, raised, narrow rim. Relief depicts Greek cross with simple raised outline, dots at corners, and six small raised dots in upper arm. Wide, sunken shoulder has palm branch in simple, raised line. Slight joining ridge and slight ledge but no webbing; brush marks and finger prints. Low, narrow, solid handle attaches just over shoulder-rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Fine, hard fabric with very small, rare to uncommon, subangular, white inclusions and small, very rare, angular, black inclusions; very sparse, small, angular voids. Unslipped.
One large fragment preserves roughly half of discus and shoulder to rim and entire upper handle; broken along seam, and lower half missing. Very sparse, slight lime encrustation.
