Description
Globular(?) body. Small, everted rim forming a blocky projection has convex outside face and deep, wide groove on upper face. Surface shows linear marks on body and brushstrokes on handle from wet-smoothing.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Core: brownish red. Surface (thin) fired consistently orangish brown. Somewhat fine, hard fabric with granular to hackly break has frequent, medium to large, subrounded and subangular, light (translucent and white: quartzitic) inclusions, well sorted and some at surface; uncommon, small and medium, subrounded and tabular, red particles (iron oxide?); and common, varied small to tiny bits (mostly white but also gray and black).
Preservation comment
One substantial fragment preserves 11% of rim, upper part of one handle, and small part of upper body. Sparse, slight abrasion and chipping mostly around edges; clean breaks; thin but extensive film of encrustation.
