Description
Conical lower body. Heavy, flat, plain bottom; toe slightly concave with shallow central button. Narrow combing nearer base has upward orientation, with rounder peaks and more overlap away from base. Extant interior surface lined with black pitch.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale reddish brown, consistently fired; coarse fabric, hard, granular to hackly break; infrequent, small, angular lime particles, rare medium to large, dark stone, varied tiny bits, many visible at surface. Exterior surface very thinly slipped, matte, same color as fabric. Gaza.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 40% of toe and lower body. Moderate, extensive abrasion; worn breaks; thick, extensive, rough encrustation.
