Description
Solid spike toe tapers downward to flat bottom, marked by widening into panel at base. Small irregular dimple underneath. Light spiral turning. Wide to cylindrical lower body.
Fabric, firing, surface
SCA Fabric C: consistently fired to reddish brown; vaguely sandy texture and granular break; very frequent, small, silvery and less commonly golden micaceous flakes, many on surface; rare tiny lime bits; uncommon pale chunks (quartzitic); rare, very small, angular, red and gray particles.
Preservation description
One large sherd preserves entire toe and large part of lower body. Slight abrasive scratches and scattered patches of encrustation and slightly worn breaks, but otherwise in good condition.
