Samos Cistern Amphora
Description
Solid spike toe tapers downward to flat bottom, marked by widening into panel at base. Small irregular dimple underneath. Light spiral turning. Wide to cylindrical lower body.

Fabric, firing, and surface description
Consistently fired to reddish brown; very frequent small golden micaceous flakes, many on surface, and occasional light, small lime bits.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves entire toe and large part of lower body. Slight abrasive scratches and scattered patches of encrustation and slightly worn breaks, but otherwise in good condition.
