Wide, rounded body. Vertical rim tapering toward top with thin, sharp lip; outside face offset from wall by shallow groove; inside face concave with curved ridge forming ledge for lid. Circular handle ridged all around, twisted, attaches from upper body to articulation of shoulder and neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pale brown at core, grey towards surface. Granular fabric with pimply surface has frequent small circular inclusions (“added sand“), occasional medium angular inclusions. All surfaces fired grey consistent with fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 8% of rim and shoulder and one handle. Mostly clean breaks but somewhat extensive abrasion and chipping across surfaces of vessel and handle; large patches of encrustation.
