Description
Circular outline. Circular, concave discus with filling hole low center and design of scallop shell in relief. Simple volute nozzle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 7.5YR 7/4, pink. Slip: 7.5YR 4/4, brown. Hard, smooth, somewhat fine fabric with very rare, small, rounded to subangular, grey to black rocky inclusions. Semiglossy, smooth, uneven slip, mottled, slightly flakey, which is best preserved on discus.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve roughly three quarters of discus and one third of shoulder. Slight, sparse abrasion; moderate, extensive encrustation on all surfaces. Traces of secondary scorching on one side?
