Description
Slightly rounded shoulder. Vertical loop handle, oval in section with deep groove on top.
Fabric, firing, surface
SCA Fabric D: Reddish brown, fired slightly darker at interior surface; hard, medium coarse, with granular to vaguely hackly break and rough surface texture; common, tiny to small but rarely small-medium white (calcareous?), pale or clear (quartzitic), red (iron oxide), and rarely angular, dark gray bits; rare clear glassy (volcanic) particles; common, small flecks of silver mica and rare larger flakes of golden mica.
Preservation description
One sherd preserves large part of one handle and lower attachment. Slight, extensive abrasion and scraping with minor chipping around edges; worn breaks; thin, extensive film of encrustation.
