Description
Short, curving, concave (“hourglass”) neck. Small, everted rim with rounded lip. Thick handle, oval in section, curves gradually down from the rim to the shoulder.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Red, hard, fabric; smooth to slightly granular break; frequent silver micaceous flakes often on surface; uncommon to common, angular, irregular, medium and smaller light particles (quartz and lime or feldspar?); rare, medium, angular and subangular, platy, dark gray to black particles; few varied tiny bits. Very thin, dull, darker (reddish brown) wash partially extant on surface, flaking.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves 22% of rim, less than one quarter of neck, and upper part of one handle. Slight, sparse abrasion and scattered scratches; somewhat clean breaks; very few specks and one patch of thin encrustation.
