Description
Amphora or pitcher? Low ring foot, roughly triangular, with groove on outer face. Flaring lower wall. Light turning marks on exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Grey core and pale yellowish brown at surface (2-5 mm); coarse fabric, medium hard, with hackly break and slightly pimply surface; infrequent, small, tabular and subrounded, mostly light and fewer dark inclusions, and rare medium to large lime chunks and subangular, reddish brown stones; few inclusions embedded in surface.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves 15% of base and small part of lowermost wall. Slight, somewhat extensive abrasion and chipping around edges; worn breaks; thin, sparse patches of encrustation.
