Typological identification
Late Roman Large-Bowl Funnel
Description
Slightly incurving rim with flattened lip. Straight wall tapers downward toward spout.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric is slightly coarse with frequent small light, angular inclusions, mostly calcitic, some quartz; frequent golden mica flakes, often visible on surface. Thick matte buff slip on all extant surfaces; one patch of thick excess slip; other patches and brush marks, very limited spalling.
Preservation comment
Six joing sherds preserve almost 2/3 of rim and upper body. Very slight, scattered and chipping but otherwise clean breaks.
