Description
Basin. Wide bowl with flaring, thick walls with corrugation. Plain, flat base with sharp transition to wall, marked by fine groove on outer wall.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Brownish red; slightly fine, somewhat hard, with smooth break; frequent, small to medium, mostly light and fewer dark subangular inclusions, also embedded in surface. All surfaces are light brown with patchy grey on interior; turning marks on interior and exterior; distinct tool mark towards base, interrupted. Corinthian buff utilitarian fabric.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves ca. 20% of base and large part of contiguous wall. Slight, extensive abrasion, pitting and scratching; worn breaks; faint patches of white discoloration (calcareous?).
