Description
Crater or lekane. Rounded upper body turns sharply to straight flaring rim with hanging, rounded(?) lip. Slipped on interior over rim and outer face or lip; drops of slip on exterior wall, which appears otherwise unslipped.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Buff fabric with a tinge of pink, fired more yellow or pale brown at surface; orangish red slip. Medium fine, hard; smooth to slightly granular break. Uncommon to common, well sorted, subrounded, lime inclusions; rare to uncommon, tiny dark bits; common sparkles of golden(?) mica. Thin, even, semimatte slip, extensively peeling in small flakes.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 5-7% of rim and small part of upper body. Extensive, moderate abrasion with scratching and chipping around edges; worn breaks; faint, thin patches of encrustation especially on unslipped exterior.
