Description
One sherd preserves small part of body. Slight, sparse abrasion and pitting; slightly worn breaks; scattered specks of encrustation.
Description
Skyphos. Strong carination to vertical upper wall. Finely executed barbotine decoration: stemmed floral motif surrounded by small dots. Slipped on interior and exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Pink with tinge of grayish brown especially toward interior surface; slip is darker reddish brown. Very fine, very hard; smooth break. Rare, poorly sorted, small, rounded and elongated, white (calcareous) inclusions; few tiny black bits; no visible mica. Semiglossy slip with faint metallic sheen, variable thickness. Material typical for ware; cf. Kogler2022, pp. 171-172.
