Pitcher. Rounded upper body to shoulder. Prominent groove along upper shoulder near lower neck. Irregular, vertical, well spaced grooves, drawn by hand.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Orangish yellow fabric with a tinge of pink; slightly gritty, soft; granular break with smooth surface. Rare, small, subangular, white (calcareous), uncommon to common, gray, red, and tiny black, and rare, isolated, angular, black stoney inclusions. Thin, even, dull matte slip, slightly brownish red. Slip covers exterior wall and drips inside. Cf. Late Roman Athenian lamp fabric.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves small part of middle to upper body at shoulder. Slight, sparse abrasion; somewhat worn breaks; scattered, small, thin patches of encrustation.
