Description
Wide tear-shaped(?) outline. Thick walls. Thick joining ridge and flecks of excess clay around front wall. Marks on interior from finger-pressing or molding.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/3, light reddish brown (and darker). Hard, dense, medium coarse fabric, fired slightly more gray toward surface, with frequent, white (“calcitic“), subrounded to angular inclusions and rare, small, subrounded voids (very few opening at surface). Unslipped. Slightly lighter and finer than typical Late Roman Corinthian red lamp fabric but perhaps within range of variation? otherwise regional?
