Ephesian Fine Gray Ware is typified by large, rimmed platters with oval to circular or rectangular formats in a hard, very fine, micaceous fabric with a dark brown to dark gray, smooth, soapy, thick, semiglossy slip. Such platters were produced at Ephesus during the 1st century BCE to 1st century CE.
