Description
Corner of rectangular stone, probably millstone. Rectilinear frame of broad arms (W. 0.085–0.010) with face marked by sharp, deep groove, within which stone slopes gently to rectangular opening in middle. Back is slightly concave (D. 0.006). Surface shows striations and pits from use, natural erosion, or both. Probably a grinding stone with narrow slit in middle to serve as hopper.
Preservation description
One fragment broken at both ends preserves front, back, and two sides. Slight, sparse pitting and chipping; very thin, extensive encrustation.
