Description
Upper portion of flat slab with finely sculpted floral motifs in low relief. Along top edge of face runs flat, broad band (L. 0.043; D. 0.002) that curves roundly inward. Below this are two bands that represent curvilinear floral forms, perhaps tendrils that terminate in spirals, or one tendril that arcs diagonally to upper left and either concentric circles or central spiral to right. Carving is sharp and even. Figures resemble helices in standard floral design of Corinthian pilaster capital.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves front, back, and top edge but is otherwise broken. Slight, sparse abrasion; slight to moderate patches of encrustation; sparse yellow staining.
