Description
Upper portion of Corinthian pilaster capital with finely sculpted floral motifs in low relief. Slightly convex band (L. 0.010; D. 0.002) runs along top edge of face, below which is slightly concave raised fascia (L. 0.006; D. 0.001). Below this in diagonal orientation is grooved strip that terminates in spiral, a helix in the standard floral design of a Corinthian pilaster capital. Carving is sharp but forms are schematic.
