Description
Tear-shaped outline. Circular, slightly concave, plain discus with raised rim has central filling hole with wide rim. Slightly sloping shoulder with rounded rim has wavy lines in relief flanked by grooves. Rounded nozzle flanked by double grooves has airhole at top and narrow channel to wickhole flanked by single circles; traces of burning. Thick, solid handle with two grooves above and one below.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. Fabric: 2.5YR 7/6, light red. Slip: 10R 6/6, light red. Thin, even, dull slip preserved in patches on discus and in grooves.
Preservation description
Three joining fragments preserve entire handle, ca. 30% of shoulder, and ca. 55% of discus. Slight, extensive abrasion; mostly clean breaks; thick mortar or encrustation around handle.
