Description
Tear- or almond-shaped body. Circular(?), concave discus has raised rim with raised dots flanking base of handle. Sloping shoulder has herringbone in sharp relief. Slight joining ridge along rim near handle. Thick, pierced handle has two grooves and shows misalignment at suture; lower handle has flanking grooves. Flat base has double circular to oval grooves around incuse signature: ΧΙΟ|ΝΗϹ̣ (chi slopes right; long, sharp serifs).
Preservation description
Five joining fragments preserve entire handle, roughly one-third of shoulder, less than one-quarter of discus, and one-half of base. Thick, sparse encrustation.
