Description
Almond-shaped body. Concave discus with three raised circles at base of handle. Almost flat shoulder has herringbone in low relief. Short, thick, solid handle has two grooves. Flat base has double circular grooves around incuse design of palm branches in cross. Leaves on vertical branch narrow in length toward end; horizontal branch appears unfinished.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Late Corinthian red fabric.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves entire handle, ca. 50% of base, and small part of shoulder and discus. Slight to moderate, extensive, abrasion; slightly worn breaks; thick concretion (mortar? natural?) over most of upper handle.
