5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Hard, thin, smooth, medium-fine fabric, well levi gated, flaky, thin. Unglazed.

Late Roman Athenian Lamp, late unglazed (“postglaze”)
Description
Tear-shaped outline. Tear-shaped, concave, plain discus with central filling hole, two holes above and one below with narrow groove to nozzle, raised rim, and prominent, rounded framing ring. Slightly sloping shoulder has herringbone in low relief. Rounded nozzle; traces of burning. Slight joining ridge, narrow ledge, and webbing between shoulder and handle. Thick, solid handle has two grooves. Details are blurry from worn mold.
Preservation description
Five large fragments preserve roughly two-thirds of the lamp, including parts of discus, nozzle, and base and entire handle. Slight pitting and abrasion on top; extensive flaking and gouging on bottom.
