Description
Tear-shaped outline. Circular, concave, plain discus has small hole left and raised rim. Sloping shoulder has herringbone in relief. Rounded(?) nozzle flanked by double angled grooves. Small joining ridge, narrow ledge, and slight webbing between right shoulder and handle, though in places it has been scraped off. Thick, solid handle has two grooves and slight misalignment; lower handle has flanking grooves. Flat base has double almond-shaped grooves around incuse design of single palm branch. Details are blurry.
Fabric, firing, surface
2.5YR 6/8, light red. Late Corinthian red fabric but somewhat gritty.
Preservation description
Three large joining fragments preserve entire handle and ca. 50% of discus, shoulder, and base. Slight, sparse abrasion with rare scoring; mostly clean breaks; sparse, faint traces of encrustation.
