Description
Tear-shaped outline. Circular, concave, plain discus with central filling hole and raised rim. Shoulder has herringbone in low relief. Nozzle framed by double angled grooves has transverse band of crosshatching at top and airhole in middle.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment. 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Hard, fine fabric; smooth break and texture. Unglazed.
Preservation description
One large fragment preserves ca. 66% of discus, small part of lower shoulder, and top of nozzle. Slight to moderate abrasion with pitting, flaking, and chipping; worn breaks; extensive, thin encrustation.
