Description
Flat, almond-shaped base has has double grooves around single circle at top and incuse signature: ΧΙΟ|[ΝΗϹ] (letters have pointed ends).
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Somewhat soft, medium fine fabric; smooth break and texture, with uncommon, small voids. Unglazed.
Preservation description
One fragment preserves ca. 25% of base. Moderate, extensive abrasion with pitting; worn breaks; sparse, small patches of encrustation.
